Tarot for Breakfast

So there we were. It was a sunny morning in Darling Harbor, Sydney. Kirk and I were sitting down at a cafe for breakfast before heading off to another day of the Mind, Body, Spirit exhibition at the Sydney Convention Center nearby.

Consistent with our usual morning ritual, while waiting for our breakfast to be served, we pulled out the Tarot cards and started doing readings for each other. No sooner had the Three of Wands been revealed did the owner of the cafe request a Tarot reading.

So I stood there at the counter and drew cards to asker the restaurant owner's questions about, live, love and money. No sooner had I finished his reading when one of waitresses asks for a reading. Kirk pulled out his Voyager Tarot cards and gave her a few ideas of how her next few weeks might go. Then, a waiter came over to our table and wanted a turn at the cards as well.

When everyone had been taken care of and I went to pay the bill, the owner had already torn it up. "Breakfast is on me," he said with a grim.
